Sr. IT Security Engineer

Ranstad Technologies is looking for a Sr. IT Security Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity in South Florida.

As a Security Engineer you will provide technical support, guidance and expertise in the security technologies that ensure compliance with our Information Security Policies and Standards, client agreements and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will work on operational support of security technologies and participate in complex projects.  You will be responsible for developing solutions to improve the overall security posture of the organization in accordance with our strategic objectives defined by leadership of Information Protection Services and the Information Security Office. 

You will be responsible for understanding industry trends, current threats, information protection laws, regulations and corporate policy. 

Specific responsibilities include:

• Leads and or performs the gathering of information security metrics on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis 
• 
  
• Leads and or performs the measurement and reporting of compliance activities with approved information security policies and standards to management
• 
  
• Supports technologies related to application and infrastructure security
• 
  
• Identify, research, report and track hardware/software vulnerabilities, and execute mitigation strategy/efforts
• 
  
• Design and implement security measures, practices, and processes to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure
• 
  
• Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information assets
• 
  
• Maintain, test support, and lead formal, information security incident response process
• 
  
• Manage Information Security Program monitoring and prevention technologies as assigned
• 
  
• Identify, research, report and track hardware/software vulnerabilities, and provide direction for mitigation strategy/efforts
• 
  
• Provide technical research, analysis, and guidance, for key business line projects and strategic initiatives
• 
  
• Perform information security investigations
• 
  
• Support and Administer perimeter, application and network penetration and vulnerability tests on high risk business critical applications
• 
  
• Provide technical support for disaster recovery efforts where appropriate
• 
  
• Provide technical support on information security to all businesses

This position requires 24 x 7 x 365 on-call support for all critical security incidents.

 Requirements:

• Experience with Foundstone/Mcafee vulnerability manager, Mcafee Anivirus, Tripwire, PCI Monitoring and Compliance
• 
  
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or 5+ years equivalent work experience
• 
  
• Working knowledge and experience with network, server, database and application architecture as they apply to the information security practices
• 
  
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required
• 
  
• Ability to build relationships and influence people to adhere with security best practices
• 
  
• Extensive experience with web and application vulnerability tools, specialized training preferred
• 
  
• Previous experience with antivirus, DLP, Host Intrusion Prevention, SIEM, File Integrity Monitoring and IDS is highly recommended
• 
  
• Helpful to have CISSP, GIAC, GSEC Certification or similar

Overall Summary:

We need a senior level person with 5+ year’s exp in Security including Web + App vulnerability, Malware detection, Intrusion detection and Employing I.D.
